Variegated shell ginger. An attractive variegated form of the plain green Alpinia zerumbet. May grow up to nearly 2 metres in shade or sun.

Ruby Curcuma. Tall foliage plant to 1.5m tall with broad leaves with deep maroon stem and veins. For moist soils in warm areas. Part sun to deep shade. Feed and divide in spring.

Cape York lily. A tall tropical leafy plant of northern Australia. Decorative flower is followed by luxuriant foliage to 2m.

Thai Tumeric. A decidious leafy plant to 1.5 metres tall. Flowers at the base of the leaves in summer. Root is source of culinary tumeric. Best for moist soil in summer with dry soil in winter and partial shade all year round.

Butterfly ginger. A true water ginger with tall foliage to 2m tall and white highly fragrant flowers. Wet soil and some wind protection and shade.

A tall tropical foliage plant for warm areas. Fragrant flowers in late summer- part shade and reliable moisture in warm months.

Java ginger. Low growing ginger to 40cm tall. Light green foliage with unusual bright orange and red flowers in early winter. Moist soil in warmer months and some shade.

A tall ginger to 2m tall. Flowers are a huge group of delicately orange pink and very fragrant. Moist soil and shade are best.

Myoga Ginger. An edible japanese ginger grown for its spring shoots and young autumn flower buds. 

Puyang. Young rhizome tips,shoots and flowers are all eaten raw or cooked. Tall plant to 2m tall requires moisture and some wind protection.

Slender ginger foliage to 1m tall. Unusual pine cone like flowers are below the foliage-tiny orchid like flower emerge from the cone over a long period. Reliable moisture and some shade.
