We sell a small range of hibiscus plants, many suitable for wet or moist soils and some for true bog or water plant conditions. Hibiscus tend to have attractive and large flowers and are deciduous in winter.
Creeping Pink Swamp Hibiscus. Low growing seasonal shrub to 30cm tall with hibiscus flowers through late summer. Prefers damp soil during growing season. Feed and divide in spring. Native.
Red Swamp Hibiscus. Tall plant to 3m high with deeply lobed leaves and large crimson hibiscus flowers. Wet feet to shallow water. Fine in sun or partial shade, develops redish foliage colour in full sun.
Neches River rosemallow. Soft pink flowers with maroon centers on tall stems. Deciduous but cold tolerant plant for wet feet situations.
Yellow Swamp Hibiscus. Small shrub to 1m tall with light yellow flowers in late summer. May be deciduous in cold areas. Moist soil to 10cm deep water. Feed and divide in spring. Native.
Halberd-leaf rosemallow. Tall deciduous plant to 1m or more. In full sun produces tubular rose pink flowers in late summer. Wet or damp soils preferred.
Massive pink flowers on a deciduous clumping bush to 1.5 m tall- for bog and woodland settings and give some wind protection.
Burgundy swamp mallow. Dramatic burgundy flowers through late summer. Deciduous plant for wet areas or woodland gardens. Some shade and wind protection preferred.
Swamp Mallows. Large flowers in white all through late summer. For bog and woodland gardens.
A compact plant to 50cm tall with small leaves and pendant mauve/pink flowers through late summer and autumn. For moist but well drained soils and partial shade.
