Events with Wallis Creek Watergardens

Individuals, gardening clubs and other groups are more than welcome to contact us about organizing a special event. At the watergardens, or off site with our specialist staff. You can contact us through our standard Contact page at any time.

Group Visits To the Gardens

We are more than happy to help facilitate organized visits by larger clubs and groups to the gardens. We frequently receive large bus groups and with appropriate notice can organize to make available seating, makings for tea and coffee, and of course our own garden staff to provide guided tours around the gardens. While we most commonly are visited by gardening clubs we also welcome any group to our gardens including various art groups, school groups, walking clubs, retirees, and tourists.

Off Site Talks and Presentations

Our experienced specialist staff can also organize to come and visit your club, group or community to give a talk or presentation on water plants, watergardening and related topics. We have extensive experience in the field and have gathered a large library of information and photography relevant to most watergardening topics.

Workshops On Site

As part of our effort to encourage and promote watergardening we are now offering to provide on site workshops for groups who want a more practical example of watergardening techniques. We will be offering to have our skilled staff demonstrate such activities as dividing and re-potting water lilies, water plants, and lotus using the same methods and materials that we have developed for our own use in the nursery.

Organizing an Event

You can simply contact us at any time about organizing an event at a time and place suitable to your group. We do require some notice when organizing for larger groups, but with sufficient time in advance can accommodate most events at most times.

However it is important to be aware for visits to the gardens themselves that the plants are somewhat seasonal. There should be water plants in flower all through Spring, Summer and Autumn, but the very best time is Summer, especially through December, January and February when you can see Temperate Water Lilies, Tropical Water Lilies and also Lotus all in flower at the same time.

Similarly we recommend you organize to visit between 10.00 AM and 3.00 PM as that is the best time of day to see water lily flowers open and in full bloom.

Workshops and practical demonstrations on site may also be  available only during the correct seasons for re-potting the related plants. For details we recommend you contact us directly, but as a general rule when plants are listed as in stock on our web site we will probably be able to use them for related Workshops on site.

We are available to organize events outside of our normal opening hours and days as long as arrangements are made in advance.
